About me

Working on agricultural and equine texts is a fascinating job. However, it also requires a specific expertise. To accomplish texts that are understood by those in the equestrian and agricultural sector, you need to be an expert on the subject as well as on translating. In the course of my professional life I have combined these two aspects, in both theory and practice.

  • Accreditation as State-Certified Translator English/German
  • Correspondence course Translation at Akad University
  • Member of the German Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ) and of the German Association of Journalists (DJV)
  • Continuous professional education in all fields of activity
  • Trained editor and journalist, former editor of two specialist magazines in the equestrian sector
  • Freelance journalist, working for a number of equestrian magazines (see references)
  • Degree in agricultural sciences (Dipl.-Ing.agr.), with a major in livestock production, Hohenheim University
  • Assistant at a horse breeding association for several years
  • Apprenticeship as a fully-qualified groom (“Pferdewirt”), specialising on horse breeding and keeping
  • Genuine horse enthusiast and rider from childhood day
