Further text-related services
Apart from specialist translations, I also offer the following text-related services:
- Proofreading: proofreading involves checking a text for errors and correcting them. This includes spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as layout and formatting (by arrangement). Beyond that, the text is not modified, and the author’s style in particular is not changed.
- Copy-editing: copy-editing, on the other hand, includes not only correcting the errors mentioned above but also revising the style and, if necessary, the content. This service is only offered in German.
- Subtitling: subtitling involves transferring the audio elements of a film into written form and displaying them simultaneously. This can be a translation (English-German) or an adapted written version in the original language of the film (German-German). The latter may be necessary if the recipient has limited hearing ability (SDH translation) or to enable non-native speakers to have a better understanding of the film. (This service is currently being developed.)
- Voice-Over: this adaptation is used, for example, with videos in which the original language remains audible but is overlaid with a spoken translation. I create the translation of the original text, which then serves as a script for a professional speaker. Voice-overs are only offered from English to German.

Both technical and general texts are welcome
I regularly provide services such as proofreading for educational institutions in the agricultural sector: these include, for example, conference proceedings for specialist events, where my focus is not only on spelling and grammar, but typically also on layout and other formalities. The predominant language is German, but abstracts or individual contributions in English are of course accepted as well.
In copy-editing, I am particularly delighted to work with texts with a general background, in addition to texts from my areas of expertise and other specialist areas, where appropriate.
I have also worked as a book editor.
Whether it is a technical text or one with general content, I like to delve into new topics, offer a fresh perspective on the work in question and make creative suggestions.
